Dear Members and Friends...
Cargo handling sits at the heart of a rapidly changing global landscape. As supply chains become more complex, operational pressures increase, and risks evolve, the importance of clear standards, strong collaboration, and shared responsibility has never been greater.
This edition of ICHCA Insights highlights exactly that. From leadership perspectives on the future direction of our industry, to practical safety learning and upcoming opportunities to engage with peers, the common thread is the need for joined‑up thinking across ship and shore. Safe cargo operations do not happen in isolation, they rely on effective communication, mutual understanding, and a collective commitment to doing the right thing, even when conditions are challenging.
We continue to see the value of bringing the industry together: sharing experiences, learning from incidents (both rare and recurring), and contributing constructively to international regulatory discussions. Whether through technical panels, webinars, or engagement with bodies such as the IMO, ICHCA’s role remains to support members in navigating change while keeping safety at the forefront.
Thank you to all those who contribute their time, expertise, and insight to our work. Your involvement strengthens not only ICHCA, but the wider cargo handling community we represent.
Let’s keep raising standards, together.
